THE EXPERIENCE

The unique combination of therapies I use to help you release stress from your body, mind and heart, have been proven to improve vitality and immunity. Clients leave feeling restored, relaxed, energized and inspired.

 

The methods I use include: mindfulness based stress reduction tools, reiki, restorative massage, EFT (tapping), reflexology, breathwork, guided meditation, sound/vocal toning therapy and aromatherapy. RESEARCH LINKS provided below. 

 

My intention is to help you achieve a more peaceful state-of-being. I provide a variety of mindfulness tools and simple somatic techniques you can use post your session, that will help you regulate your nervous system, tone your vagus nerve, clear your lymphatic system and meridians.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARRIVE:

 

A warm and inviting ambiance engulfs you from the moment you arrive. As you walk into the room you are greeted by the signature scent of a spa. The calm soothing music softly playing in the background and the brilliant candles instantly set the tone for the session.  We'll assess your stress levels and cover any specific pain you've been experiencing prior to starting the session.

 

As you lie on the bed and slowly settle into your breath, the scents and soothing sounds of the room make way for you to release whatever stress has accumulated in the body, mind and heart. In turn, clients leave feeling lighter and clearer mentally, emotionally and physically. 

WHAT IS MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR)?

 

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) therapy is a meditation therapy, though originally designed for stress management, it is being used for treating a variety of illnesses such as depression, anxiety, chronic pain, cancer, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, skin and immune disorders.It employs mindfulness meditation to alleviate suffering associated with physical, psychosomatic and psychiatric disorders. Over 200 medical centers across the world offer MBSR as an alternative treatment option to patients. Studies have shown it enhances the quality of life in patients with chronic diseases like cancer, hypertension, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, chronic pain and skin disorders, after MBSR therapy. LEARN MORE

 

WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing technique that balances the subtle energies within our bodies. Reiki addresses physical, emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances. The Reiki practitioner serves as a vessel that supplies healing energies where they are most needed. WHAT IS EFT? 

 

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), is also known as "tapping". EFT is a brief intervention combining elements of exposure, cognitive therapy, and somatic stimulation of acupressure points on the face and body. When measured against the standards of the American Psychological Association’s Division 12 Task Force on Empirically Validated Treatments, EFT is found to be an “evidence-based” practice for anxiety, depression, phobias, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?

Reflexology, also known as zone therapy, a system of massage used to relieve tension and treat illness, based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet, hands, and head linked to every part of the body. Several studies indicate that reflexology may reduce pain and psychological symptoms, such as stress and anxiety, and enhance relaxation and sleep. Reflexology is sometimes combined with other hands-on therapies and may be offered by chiropractors and physical therapists, among others. LEARN MORE

WHAT IS SOUND THERAPY? 

 

Using sound, music and special instruments in therapeutic ways, combined with deep self-reflection techniques to improve health and wellbeing. Therapeutic sound is delivered using tonal and rhythmic instruments, as well as vocal processing techniques. Which combine movement, breath and visualization as well as voice. . The tonal instruments used are crystal singing bowls, rainsticks, shakers and other percussion tools. The vocal techniques are toning (the singing of one tone – usually using a vowel sound), overtoning (a technique where more than one tone is sung simultaneously) or mantra.
